Elk jaar studeert een nieuwe lichting makers af aan het RITCS School of Arts. 
Van 6 tot en met 20 juni ontdek je in en rond Brussel de resultaten van hun fin de parcours tijdens het gratis slotfestival LICHTING RITCS. 

Verwacht je aan table reads van messcherpe schrijvers, theater- en filmvoorstellingen van eigenzinnige makers en luistervoorstellingen van onze laatstejaars Radio. Ook buiten de Brusselse stadsmuren kan je in Gent en Mechelen enkele theatervoorstellingen meepikken.  

Noteer zeker en vast de slotavond van 20 juni in je agenda.

Zowel in Cinema Palace als in CINEMA RITCS wordt een staalkaart van de eindejaarswerken Audiovisuele Kunsten gepresenteerd, zorgvuldig uitgekozen door curatoren uit de professionele sector.

In de KVS kan je dan weer de slotopvoering van onze studenten Dramatische Kunsten beleven vanop de eerste rij.  

Iedereen is welkom op de gratis activiteiten tijdens LICHTING RITCS, maar reserveer je plek zeker op voorhand.

A group of outcasts, broken and unbalanced leftovers are expelled from the city they inhabit, they are force to begin an exodus that takes them through different worlds in search for a place where they can live but most important a place where they belong.

HAMAMCI (Ma)

Een man gaat op zoek naar hamamcı. 
De geur van zeep. 
Peştemal* aan de waslijn. 
Lichtstralen vallen binnen. 
Mist vertroebelt het zicht. 
De douchekop marcheert niet meer. 
Onder water ligt een ruïne. 
De steen wordt aangetast door het zout van de zee. 
 Alexander De Grote maakt een voorspelling. 
De hamam wacht. 

*De Peştemal, ook wel hamamdoek genoemd, is een traditionele Turkse handdoek die gebruikt wordt in een hamam.

Not mine and other stories (Ba)

Not mine and other stories nodigt je uit om plaats te nemen aan tafel. Een tafel waaraan verhalen van een generatie twintigers uit Brussel passeren. Jonge mensen met een mening, die toevallig elkaars pad in de stad kruisen. Of speelt er meer mee dan toeval? 

Want wie kruist je pad? Wie spreek je aan? Wie praat terug en wie zwijgt? En wie representeert ‘de stad’?

When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain? In a storm night, they say that the ghosts are around whispering old stories to who can listen. Let her guide you in her memories, in the right time you should be and through the doors you can see. Fair is foul and foul is fair. Hover through the fog and the filthy air. Cajá Manga is an immersive play, it's her fairytale, her dream.

Swallow (Ba)

Who said smashing things up was a bad thing?  Three strangers individual lives and the way they overlap, spark and fitfully connect provides the framework for Swallow.  A relentless, raw play from the writer Stef Smith.  "I've never doubted that we all wrestle with the chaos of deep, dark, hard things. We behave badly, drink too much, sleep too little, punch walls or pull our bodies apart. Rarely are we given the healthy tools that enable us to deal with this chaos. And yet, deal with it we do - we still get up the next day. And that's one of the things that Swallow looks at - the chaotic ways in which we continue. After all, it's one of the things humanity does best. We continue or, at the very least, we try to.  So I'll let you continue on to the play. Enjoy, and good luck - with everything" - Stef Smith.

A Mess (Ma)

In this play, we will follow the imagination of 2 characters, A woman and her husband. 

They are practicing, playing, the possibility that they will have to seek a better life in outer space. They have been searching for a good place in every corner of the earth but everything seems to be rotten and without hope. So one day, they know, they have to leave. And they know that they will only have a one way ticket and they won’t know how it will be out there.    

This couple is exercising the - worst case scenario - to be ready for when it gets real.
